We own and continuously develop new software, and sales are pretty good. But marketing is limited to the precense of our storefront, webmaster forums such as DP, and the odd eBay sale. Anyone have any ideas on how to really reach the masses with the products? For reference, the specific software can be reviewed at http://www.palsys.ca/software Thanks in advance, I'm coming up short on viable ideas
Hi, Sorry I don't have suggestion for you really, but perhaps making this post was good marketing I like your MySpace layout, is that unique to your company? Or is it just a generic script? I've been thinking about starting one up. Can the urls in that script be SE friendly? Edited to add: How come your google ads don't show up though? LMK, I'm interested. Thanks
The only way to reach the masses is promoting and there are too many ways to do it. Big budgets make miracles if there is a creative genius behind, but not all of us can afford such type of promotion so define the best strategies according your product before promoting, instead of enrolling into irrelevant sites promising to boost your traffic.
Two ideas: 1. Start your own mailing list. Put it on your site for people to join. 2. JV with others who do have mailing lists (such as, offer them 50% or more of sales if they send out to their lists). Okay, another idea. Do advertising on other ezines and newsletters that are geared toward buyers of software.
you can try PPC...adwords, overture and adcenter...look for low cost, low volume keywords and buy a ton of them ;-)
1. PPC Sites add your site to adwaords or others. 2. Buy some textlinks/banner adds to sites that you think will help you get traffic. 3. Add a affiliate to your site and pay people a % of the script's that thay send people to your site to buy from there links , banners on there sites. 4. As said above add a email list for people to join. 5. MySpace bulletings somtimes work. 6. Make sure you have the right keywords to help get vivists from googles ect. Can not think of anymore at moment , hope this helps you out.
The most obvious method to me is to create a couple of freebies/lite editions of what you are selling. Advertise the free versions heavily on the popular script repositry sites (I am thinking hotscripts and several other similar sites here) You will generate a lot of traffic, and whenever you give away a script, collect an email address - or better still send the free version to an email address as a zip file or similar. Do a bit of follow-up marketing on everyone who downloads a freebie trying to up-sell to the full, paid version. Please forward me 10% of all sales using this method of promotion
@dalster44 Please direct any questions about products to me via PM, or at , this is not a sales thead. @everyone else Thanks for the tips! I'm going to try the mailing list idea, and I had about 10 ideas for 'lite' versions as soon as I read it, thanks! @RRWH 5% and nothing more!
