I'm looking to set up a display screen, in my local sailing club, with a view to running a rolling sequence of relevant websites ( e.g. local weather /wind / whats on /news / picassa albums, maybe adverts etc) at variable admin defined intervals. Maybe different sequences at different times. e.g. in race days mainly weather/tide info and maybe at other times more info on social stuff, forthcoming events menus etc. I envisage a 28" screen run by an ultra small pc.....maybe with the browsing sequence(s) controlled by a some form of script....possibly managed remotely...but also to allow user/admin to change content etc.. I heard jquery might be able to manage this....but I know a club who uses a very basic vb script but I understand not very clever or friendly to use..... resulting script or program must be easy for non techies to admin e.g. to add new web sites, define time to stay on each page, The program has to be able to sense when a site is down and move straight onto the next one....as sometimes 1 or more of the weather sites pages can go down.... also bale to scale viewed page to fit screen.... for an examples of some of the sites ee here.... http://www.cambermet.co.uk/(S(aafulsygbxrf2p45n1ynqd55))/Default.aspx then http://www.cambermet.co.uk/(S(onsiarrrpxtyzpfcaysjiuim))/wind.aspx and then http://www.cambermet.co.uk/(S(ve3nb045ecf3i2efpjyapf45))/sea.aspx and maybe then http://easytide.ukho.gov.uk/EasyTide/EasyTide/ShowPrediction.aspx?PortID=0068C&PredictionLength=7 and then http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/bognor_regis_forecast_weather.html etc etc... If you think you can do this contact me with your suggestions and pricing. thanks
