Hi, Does anybody know what script is used for plentyoffish .com - or do you think it is a custom one? Thanks Carl
Hi JNM - thanks does anybody know where I can get a really basic script like that? I dont mind paying small fee. Thanks Carl
Scripting something similar to plentyoffish, although it's not a very complex job, will definitely not cost just a "small fee". Expect at least a few good hundreds $
So, you wanna make $10k a day too, eh? There is a free (basic) dating script available with GoDaddy Hosting and then you can upgrade to one of the 4-5 better options for around 200 - 600, I think.
From what Markus (who runs plentyoffish) says over on WMW, it's a very optimised custom ASP.NET script (actually, application is probably a better word) with some very well designed database backends. Cheers, Jason
Does anybody know of any simple dating scripts? I dont mind if it is not exactly like plentyoffish - I have been looking for one for ages..! Thanks for all your help guys, a varied response which is great and very helpful and yes i do want to make $10,000 a day! (no chance!!!)
Hi Guys, Thanks for all your comments I still have not found any good dating scripts, like I said I dont mind paying for it, but still I have had no luck. Carl
$10,000 a day is pretty a nice income. I would like to have my very own dating site too. I wanna develop it on my own since I'm an ASP.NET developer (seasoned ) and I like to develop such 'application' very much. However, I haven't got the chance to do it now since I'm really toooo busy now. When I get time, I will definitely dive into it. Just wondering if plentyoffish.com is developed by its owner or the owner hires someone to do it. Anyone has any clue??? Definitely, for such popular web application, the backend database should be designed very well, optimized and highly scalable. SEO is also another big part for this site. Also, I have heard that the owners spends quite some big bucks on marketing it. Lots to learn from this site...
There are a lot of good dating scripts out there that range from free to $700. Just do a script search on google like "dating script, or free dating script and check them out. You can then go to getafreelancer.com or something like that and find people to modify them for you. It's easier than starting from scratch. Good Luck, Justin eDate.com
Guys, can I ask a question: what exactly does this plentyoffish script do that would cost so much? Thanks.
