    The Truth About Unlimited Hosting

When looking for a Web Hosting company to provide space for you, you normally look for the best deal with the most to offer. What your soon find out is that your “good deal” turns out to be a wrong move. False advertising is what you have fallen into.

When you people see the words "Unlimited Web Hosting" they are drawn in immediately. The problem is that you cannot receive unlimited web hosting. It is truly impossible.

Most companies will advertise webspace and bandwidth that they don’t even have. Many companies today offer you unlimited, or an astronomical amount of webspace for a inexpensive price. The problem is that most companies don’t have that much space to give out. What they are doing is hoping that you don’t use all of the space that they allotted you. But, if you decided to use all of your 200GB, most likely you will have a slow server or no server at all.

When a company offers you 200GB of webspace, most people dont understand how much space that really is. 200GB of webspace is the amount of space that a large computer has. A company is not going to actually give you a computer's worth of webspace for only a couple dollars a month.

Here on DP, my company has found that there are so many unlimited and overselling going on, that we honestly can't compete with them. My company did some research and found that 75% of web hosting companies that oversell or offer unlimited hosting go out of business within 3 months.

We encourage people to not purchase this crap. A lot of these companies will sell you yearly hosting or lifetime hosting. You are expecting this hosting to last you 10+ years but honestly, based on our research, they wont last more that a couple months.

There are certain ways to protect yourself from falling into the scam of unlimited Bandwidth. The best one is carefully read the company’s terms of use and conditions. Most of the time you will find out what they say about there unlimited hosting and is a little different than what they told you before.

Unlimited Webspace is inpossible, but its also impossible to use it. When one user may only use 1gb of space the other may use 50GB. I personally think there are few companies on here that provide good quality hosting with unlimited features.

We have been around for 2 years, and have no plan of going. We provide unmetered space and bandwidth.

Check our thread out for the great feedback we have recieved.

90% are faulse and go out of business quickly. 10% or less dont, we the 10%!

Basically unlimited has become such a bad word so they put unmetered instead but it's still the same thing! Amazing

I really agree with the starter of this thread. I soon as I hear the word "unlimited" or "unmetered" its bye bye. I don't want to even know the hosts that do that anymore after being scammed.

James is right, I know a company that has been providing such hosting for 4 years, in my opinion most companies are putting down unlimited hosting because they can't do it themselves/compete.

Unmetered hosting is the way forward, providing people with no restrictions is great, other companies who charge stupid prices like $20 per month for a few hundred mb's are just greedy. I have one customer that is using over 100gb space, but im not going to chuck him off, he paid for unmetered hosting and thats what he shall get. If the company is happy and the customer is happy, whats the problem?
    - the problem is, more greedy companies are losing out and they are to stingy to offer restrictless hosting so instead they complain and attempt to prevent people from buying unmetered hosting.

I understand what you guys are saying but look at MOST companies. I will agree that some companies can oversell and sell unlimited hosting and get away with it.. but not most. In the last most you say you know 1 company. Not many companies have last that long with unlimited hosting.. you said it yourself.. you know of 1
