Anyone using any screen saver builder? I have tried Axialis Professional Screen Saver Producer, but they put their website url and their product name in the settings popup, even with the registered version. Don't quite like it this way. Of course I know it is always better to program yourself, but the only desktop programming language I am ok at is VB. Scrensavers created using VB is big in filesize, not that handy in distributing them
most of the free screen saver creater programes put their name and web address. yeah the provide you free program to promote them self
I built a screensaver maker program with c++, am releasing it soon. methinks you'll like. VB is plop alright.
What do you mean VB is plop? So, when can you let me test your screensaver maker? Will it be a freeware?
I've used axialis and it's not perfect, but it does the job and is better than a lot of other ones out there. I didn't really care about the plug myself, but then I wasn't trying to sell screen savers - just make them for friends, family, and my ultrasound customers. I can understand if I had a screensaver web site that you wouldn't want the plug in there. I wasn't happy about it, but in the end it's not that bad.
Ya, Axialis is quite ok and it gets the work done. But, I don't understand why they would put the plug there even for the registered version? Anyway, I am looking if there are members here who have used others and think they are good.
Because of the URL link in Axialis I ended up going with ScreenSaver Factory Pro 3 Pro Edition from BlueMentals (http://www.blumentals.net/scrfactory/index.php). According to their features list it can handle Flash files but I have not tried it yet. One of the features that Axialis had that Factory does not is that with Axialis you can associate a sound file to a particular image. But considering it's low price, it's ability to create customer keys, and the fact that it does not have any OEM branding at all (you can control all of the branding options in the Pro edition) then it was an easy choice for me. If you're looking for quick & easy SS maker that you can apply your own branding to then check out the Pro edition (not sure if the non-Pro version offers the same branding options).
