Screen Capture Programs

Okay, I am making a tutorial video on how to make screen capture videos. Now I use camtasia, but I want to show people how to create screen captures using Camtasia.

The problem is, if I am recording it with Camtasia I can't exactly show them how to record it all (the way I'm doing it, I am guiding them through step by step)

So my question is. What other programs are there that I can use to record my screen capture for the video.

If you need any clarification just ask.

    Thank-you :)

No no, I have camtasia, the paid version but I'm recording a tutorial showing them how to use camtasia and record but obviously because I have it open once it won't work. What I'm saying is i need ANOTHER screen capture program so I can actually record it.

The responses in here are funny. :D

Try out Blueberry Flashback to (video) capture your screen tutorial on how to use Camtasia. http://www.bbsoftware.co.uk/bbflashback.aspx

The 1 problem I see is that Camtasia uses a lot of system resources and Blueberry Flashback itself isn't that light so I am not sure how well your computer will handle both of the programs being used simultaneously.

I've been using the Open Source Wink Presentation software for about 3 years now www.debugmode.com/wink/ <<~~ It's worked out for my needs so good, I've never had to search for another yet in 3 years :) .

To each their own though, Good luck in your search.

I think this is what you are looking for: http://camstudio.org/

It's free, and does a great job of recording the screen. Should work fine for recording a tutorial on how to record the screen.

No, I have a paid version of Camtasia already. It works fine. But I need to record myself recording WITH camtasia. So I can't exactly use both at once. In the video im making I am walking through exactly what to do to create a video. But I need a program to record with that can record what I am showing them USING CAMTASIA. I have camtasia already, its not stuffed but I need another program to use just for 1 video.

I've also tried this software and it is very good. Try using this to capture your tutorial.

Don't people read anything before replying?

The OP isn't asking about camtasia..the question concerns a video capture tool to capture a video capture tool.
    simple!
How hard is that to understand? lol.

good luck mate. If only i could remember what my cousin uses..
