Scrapper Sites

I just noticed I was in DMOZ for one of my sites and that I have about 20 backlinks already from the scrapper sites. Question is does anyone know about how many scrapper sites are out there? I tried various searches to find out but kept getting different numbers.

Ya just noticed when they changed my title they mispelled the name! Hard to believe since its the name of the category. So now maybe one day I will get the name edited. :(

If the title is not spelled correctly then I would suggest you submit an update with a message noting such.

Navigate to the category where the site is listed and click 'update listing', enter the requested details and include a note about the spelling error. :)

Ya I did that right when I saw it. I also signed up to be an editor in that category too since I was already listed I would think I would have a better chance to get accepted.

Maybe the fact that you spelled "scraper" incorrectly several times in this thread will help you in that editor application...

Scrappers are pins that were made in the factories in China over the allotment made by Disney. Are they a Disney pin? Yes they are.. but they are pins over and above the allotment "ordered" by Disney. So in essense, they could be called illegally made Disney Pins. Sometimes when the "second run" of the pin is done, there are differences noted, but it can only be known comparing two pins side by side. These pins can also be classified as counterfeits. ...

So basically a scrapper site is a site that appears to look like another site but is not the real thing.

I know it should be scraper but scrapper actually fits! :)
