Scour - A New Search Engine

Just launched is a new search engine called Scour.

It collects search results from Google - Yahoo - MSN and displays the sites rank on each of these three search engines.

It is really quite cool but I am not sure how long it will last in that they pay for you to search using their engine. Actually they give you credits which you can exchange for cash.

They have their own search tool bar that you can install and there are a bunmch more goodies on the way.

    Take a Look At SCOUR

ABC search engines (they own Scour.com) are pretty spammy in general - link PrimoSearch.com (check it out if you like).

I don’t like the point system and would rather be paid in cash, that’s why I use Home Pages Friends; they are paying me about £0.02p $0.04 a search, via Yahoo

I have been paid three times and I am averaging about £40.00 $80.00 per month from both referrals and searching.

Can I ask if anybody has been paid by www.scour.com , or even if you have been paid yet?

This one is just out of the gate. The top person so far has only accumulated 2871 points or credits.

Payment for points is as follows

    25,000 = $100
    12,500 = $50
    6,500 = $25

you get credited 25% of what your referrals earn as well which in the end is what makes you your money.

Like I said I am looking forward to the egadgets they are going to come out with and hopefully they will generate some income too.

My question is where are they getting their money to pay the users... I assume it is a redistribution of advertising dollars.

I am just learning now since I found SCOUR that there are other pay to search, search engines but this one seems to have a nicer user interface and more in tune with the Web 2.0 world.

I don't think anyone will get rich off of it but it could make you a couple bucks a year I suppose.

I already installed their toolbar and I really like their design.
I think google has reasons to worry.
Nice design, fast results, and good news for site owners who ranked bad on one of the major search engines, now at scour you rank well if you have god results on one or two of the 3 major search engines.
Guys, go for it, don't waste your time, you are lucky to read about scour now that it's in the beginning.
about the other search engines these guys had, some say they are spamy, well this is how you start and those who keep on trying will reach their goals, and I honestly think, these guys will reach their goals and will help you to reach your goals.
They encourage us to promote them, you see how genius this idea is, do you encourage people to use or join other major SE?
And the idea of social search engine is brilliant!!!
For web business owners who honestly give good service or sell good products and offer great service it's great, they will be on top, I hope tough the competitors won't give bad votes and bad comments to their opponents, hope scour guys will be able to monitor that, otherwise, it will be hell on earth for the honest online web business owners.
I believe Scour guys will have to accept volunteer moderators like dmoz.

I think there is some potential for abuse of the system and I am not sure what they have in place to keep people from creating some script to do searches on Auto pilot to run up their search credits or crank up votes on their own sites.

There will undoubtedly be some bugs in the system but we shall see how it all plays out. Hopefully they become another Playa in the search engine world... Google is old news it is time for something different.

    Scour.com is fast and flexible.
But it is easy to develop the script for auto searching for Scour.com. (with PHP, only 15-20 minutes...)

This is what I was thinking. There is no security measures to prevent this from what I see ans if you end up having to fill in a bunch of # and letters with every search Scour will soon die

Anyhow, all we can do is hope it all plays out cuz I really do like the search engine itself.

Yes, you are true, no security in this site.

Then, it is the important point. I wish, Scour.com team will make a solution.

Have any of you received money from them yet? Are you charged with anything? Is it possible to be paid via Paypal?
