Any fellow Scots out there who also believe we can beat Italy as we did France in September?! I think this will be a first if England don't get through and Scotland do?!

Going for 2-1 to Scotland tomorrow! :D

It would be nice to see the Scots go through, but this time tonight both England and Scotland could be out or Scotland could be thorugh and England still in with a chance. I can't remember the last time that England and Scotland played in a major tournament together, not being one since 2000 anyway I don't think.
I'll be keeping an eye out for the score but i'm by no means supporting the Scots.

Italy leading 1-0 thanks to a goal from Luca Toni.

Weir's header should have gone in- great work from Pirlo.

    Wales 2-2 Republic of Ireland.

    :O
Last minute goal for Italy and they win 2-1.
Scotland had a great chance through James McFadden with about 10 minutes to go to win it but he blasted wide. Italy win it at the death and go crashing out.
    Come on Israel!!!!

Croatia are through, Mclaren has been handed a lifeline.

And now we'll lose to Croatia on Wednesday! This is 2000 all over again. If you remember then we screwed up the qualifying group, got baled out by Sweden and then snuck through the play-offs with a lucky win over some 3rd-rate nation we should have hammered into next week (I forget who it was now). Then we humiliated ourselves by getting eliminated at the Euro Finals group stage.

I suppose it's a 'win-win' situation on Wednesday. If we win (or draw) we've at least some football to look forward to next summer - even though it will probably be humiliating. If we lose we can finally end the McClaren era.

As far as Scotland are concerned they seem to be quite happy with their traditional role of heroic failures. They DID do extremely well in a group that contained Italy and France whilst we've struggled with a load of 2nd raters. I don't think they can have too many complaints about the result though; ok it was NEVER a free-kick but then the Italians had a perfectly good 'goal' ruled out in the 1st half and the Scottish one was a bit iffy.

Truffels_R_us: Are Croatia shirts selling well in Scotland at the moment? You could always dig out the ones you wore in 2004!
