Hello folks, I have been a member of DP for a while but only recently started posting. I have been a webmaster for ten years now. My busiest site is my science forum over at http://forums.hypography.com - we recently passed 100,000 posts and are on our way to 200K. The forums grew out of my main portal at http://www.hypography.com/ which has been online since May 2000. I am going to need some help with a redesign so I'll be posting something about that in the marketplace soon. I also run a number of other sites, mostly science related, although I have jumped on the MFA bandwagon and am reaping some benefits. Partly this is because I would really like to lessen the advertisement load in my forums - for me, science is a real passion and people should be able to discuss it without drowning in ads. In my real life I work as the head of web communication for a national space agency - not as exiting as it can sound, but nevertheless it pays my bills. Twice in my life I have been self employed, and I hope to go back to that situation within 3-4 years. I have recently been offered to take a Masters degree in communication (paid by my employer) in addition to my day job so it will be some busy years ahead. Anyway, I'm also a ColdFusion developer and have used vBulletin, PHP and MySQL for several years now so I considered myself well-versed even if I am not 100% up to date on everything. After all, who can be these days! Glad to be here.
