I am writing this post because I am doing a school Food and Hospitality Special Study and I would like your help. I need a survey conducted by people of the public, and that would be you. I will conduct other survey's, but I would like to have a wide range of opinions. Please fill out the survey; and please be honest, think about the questions, answer fully and please don't make too much of a smart comment (it is ok to answer funny, I like humour, but I would like this to be taken seriously) Thank you if you take your time to fill the survey out. Please also include your Name, Age and Location. Name: Clancy Bird Age: 17 Location: Darwin, AUSTRALIA Within your posts. =============================================== Food and Hospitality Survey Clancy Bird Please take your time in answering this survey about successful fast food franchises. Name: Age: Location: What makes a successful fast food franchise? Focus question 1: •How does the location of the business affect the success? •Would you be likely to drive more than 10km to a fast food restaurant to get a quick meal? •Are you more likely to go to a restaurant which is closer, but isn’t your favourite? •Do you think that prices change with competitive stores which are close to each other? Or do they keep the prices the same? Focus question 2: •How does the pricing of the foods affect how the customers feel, and potentially the success of the business? •What do you do if you only have $5.00, and the meal is $6.00? •Do you feel that none, some, most or all meals and products of the franchise are over priced? •What meals do you think are the reason people go to the restaurant? •Do you prefer healthy foods over the other meals? Focus question 3: •How does the theme and service of the restaurant affect the success? •What do you look for in a fast food franchise? •How does the ambience of the restaurant affect the way you feel? •How do you feel if the service is slow? •How do you feel if the person serving you isn't polite? Okay, I've given answering your questionaire a shot for you, no gurantees it's usable answers though since I don't frequent them places. Go to one maybe 2 or 3 times a year. =============================================== Food and Hospitality Survey Clancy Bird Please take your time in answering this survey about successful fast food franchises. Name: Sandra Age: 35 Location: Alaska, USA What makes a successful fast food franchise? Focus question 1: How does the location of the business affect the success? •Would you be likely to drive more than 10km to a fast food restaurant to get a quick meal? No •Are you more likely to go to a restaurant which is closer, but isn’t your favourite? Depends on the product sold •Do you think that prices change with competitive stores which are close to each other? Or do they keep the prices the same? I would assume they are more cometative in pricing, but I don't go to fast food places very much. Focus question 2: •How does the pricing of the foods affect how the customers feel, and potentially the success of the business? •What do you do if you only have $5.00, and the meal is $6.00? Don't understand the question. You generally can't haggle at American places so you get something else. •Do you feel that none, some, most or all meals and products of the franchise are over priced? some •What meals do you think are the reason people go to the restaurant? Umm... I'm not sure how to answer this since there are like a million different places in the US. For chicen you go to Kentucky Fried Chicken, for Tacos go to Taco Bell or Taco Time, Hamburgers - well, there's a lotta them places and they each have their own special kind of burger. So it's a matter of what the person likes that determines where they go. •Do you prefer healthy foods over the other meals? No. Sorry, but I refuse to pay $5 for a tablespoon of walnuts, three grapes, four slivers of apple and a small cup with less than two tablespoons of yogurt in it. Focus question 3: How does the theme and service of the restaurant affect the success? •What do you look for in a fast food franchise? Good food. •How does the ambience of the restaurant affect the way you feel? Yes •How do you feel if the service is slow? Irritated and bored. •How do you feel if the person serving you isn't polite? I better plead the 5th here. I tend to glare at them a lot.
