Scenario: Ranking for a keyword

    Question:

    Why is it that I will rank better for "women's high heel slippers", than I would for "womens high heel slippers", The only difference being the apostrophe between the two?

    Either you use the apostrophe version on your site or in your link anchor text. The search engines treat women's differently than womens.

    So would removing the apostrophe remove me from the apostrophe listing? And put me in the same position in the non-apostrophe listing?

    Well you should pick one depending which one gets more traffic, one will give you more than the other
