Overall, how is everyone doing in terms of plugins? From what I hear, most are complaining that simple ones like Sociable, Related Posts and others don't work at all with 3.0 which I find scary...I was also looking through Wordpress.org's plugins area and reading a lot of negative comments...I still haven't upgraded and don't know if I will until the next update comes out.
i have updated some of my wordpress powered sites, and i haven't found any issue yet, my themes also works fine, plugins do so
Some Plugins are giving problems, that's why it is a very good idea to use less plugins. I have around 10 plugins, update run very well. Some people are waiting for the next wp version to upgrade. Don't forget to backup database once you want to upgrade Good luck
A lot of people will wait till 3.1 is released. Unless you have a pressing need to use features in 3.0 I'd suggest hanging on till the next release.
At the end of the day, it's an effort to upgrade even the minor versions, let alone moving up to 3.0.
Upgrading to WordPress 3.0 wasn't a huge deal for me. In general it went pretty smoothly, and as far as I could see, there were no serious problems with my installation.
I did not experience any problems when updating from 2.9.2 to 3.0. i upgraded my site and didn't have any issues at all. it would however be wise to always back-up your site before the upgrade. it may have worked for many of us, but others may have negative experience - mostly plugin compatibility issues. If you have a back-up, you can always revert back to it and save yourself from any trouble.
I already upgraded all of my blogs. I experienced problem with 1 of my blog. It is still not functioning right now. I don't see the logic of this upgrade actually if it will be better to wait for the 3.1.
I updated over 30 single user blogs, and 5 MU blogs to 3.0 and have done at least 4 fresh installations since it was released with no problem. I didn't even back half of them up ( although I have automatic backups with my hosting account). I only had to ditch one plug in, but I knew ahead of time that it was old and probably wouldn't make it after the upgrade.
Dont Know why the people are sp scared of wp 3.0 ...I think you must use old version of wp's Well WP 3.0 is bugs fixes version. not providing any bugs. and I havn't get any review that anyone is getting problem it may occur few problem in customised theme nothing else.
I havent had any trouble with using/installing WP 3.0 i use it on probably a dozen sites that i primarily use as a cms and i have had no dramas
The only problem I had was with the FT Signature Manager plug in. It messed up the font on my site after the upgrade I deleted it and all was fine.
