Scanning of brochures for showcase, legal?

Hi there, I recently have this idea of setting up a blog just for showcasing some of the well-designed brochures we see in everyday life.

If it's not infringing any copyright laws, this is what I'll do - Scan and post up a different brochure everyday.

Does anyone know if this could infringe copyright laws, even if I put up a disclaimer saying those brochures belongs to the respective companies etc..?:p

If there isn't an explicit notice that the material in the brochure is in the public domain, then you must get permission (a license) to use it on your site. I would think that most companies would be glad to let you do that since you would be giving them publicity, but that still means you need to ask.

There are tons of ad industry blogs that do this sort of thing. Contact some of them and see if they've ever had any issues.
