Scammers on DP

I dealt with a lot of people here and as many know I am totally honest 100% of the time, pay right away with services and I'm very kind to sellers offering good iTrader and helping with their threads

I also always check seller's iTraders before buying

Even so, every once in a while you find the scammer who just takes your money and then never responds to PMs, or the other guy who sells you a "permanent" link and after 2 weeks your links disappear

What are we supposed to do in these cases? The worst thing is that some of these thieves KEEP ON "SELLING" on DP even though they have stolen from 2-3-4 people, because nobody does anything, and what's worse they are actually "protected" by DP's rules???

    Example:

This guy took the payment and then never responded to my PMs, after a week I was forced to file a paypal claim. Then I went on his thread to warn buyers

His response is as arrogant and ridiculous as to cite "DP's rules", saying you can't discuss private matters in public:
"I refuse to handle private matters regarding kedothpro in this thread. According to DP rules, private issues are not to be handled in threads, and our issue will be resolved through paypal."

What the heck? What's worse is that he's still out there scamming people now on other 2-3 threads despite having 3 negative iTraders of people claiming he stole from them

Are we just supposed to watch these clowns and do nothing? Doesn't DP have a way of dealing with these scammers?

Damn that sucks but then again DP is a huge forum so there always will be a very few who slips out of the authority. You did a very good thing by the posting in the thread thing. It really helps other people to be aware themselves which I believe is the first and foremost solution. About DP having a way with them, of course they do but sometimes you gotta point a finger to the exact guy/lady who whacked your bucks and report to the proper admins! I saw a thread the other day with a similar issue, the potential scammer apparently was open about his issues and replied with a deadline which made more or less everyone happy. So see how we members can make a difference? Its a forum, hence when admins aint around, the power resides with us People, for the people and by the people... *aheem* ... Godspeed!

Yes, you are meant to make use of the iTrader system. Mods don't get involved with this kind of stuff.

Can DP have a list of scammers in this marketplace? not only buyers are being scammed but also the sellers. There are some buyers that don't pay with the services you did for them..

I'm afraid that nothing like that can be done.

DP does not interfere in personal disputes between memebers.

What would you do if X person simply said that you were a scammer, and demanded that your name be added to that list ? You would try to defend yourself. And the same would happen with tons of other members. Just because a person says that somebody is a scammer doesn't mean he or she is one. The moderators do not have time to babysit people here.

If the buyer did not pay for the service that you provided despite having said that he would, give him a negative Itrader.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience :(

If you check out a few of my more recent posts you'll see my scammer story also. Initially I was worried that I might receive infractions or even get banned because of my posts toward the member that scammed me.

I searched on here for what to do but couldn't find any useful advice so I just emailed the webmaster of digitalpoint, described what happened, and sent him a link to my posts and the scammers profile, and requested that he be banned before he rips any other members off.

The guy was banned very soon afterwards. I guess every story will have a different outcome depending on the history, but first port of call, is to email the webmaster and give as much background info as possible and of course, leave him neg itrader. ;)

I made a site for people to report scammers and one of the reasons was this.

Often people who have scammed and get negative iTraders claim they didnt do it and the person is trying to blackmail them or the person that left it has low iTrader therefor their -iTrader cant be trusted. People will believe this for some reason.

90% of the time, I pay them and never check. I rely on their ethics to put up the link. Heck, a lot of times, I just pay them thinking I am helping them out.

I have gotten burned once by one user on another forum. Claims he has just been busy, yet still comes to the forums once a week to advertise. Most of the time, life goes on. You would think though that he would put the links on there long enough for me to check them and say life's good.

I got scammed from some guy on here and my brother did as well. After a week or so of not getting my work done I went back here to PM him just to see that he had been banned so I had no choice but to file a paypal dispute which I will lose because they do not protect against services or virtual gods.

I agree with you people selling permanent and removing them after some time. I don't think its easy to deal with scammers.

I've been scammed by prepaying writers who never deliver, buying sites that are never transferred, or buying sites that turn out to be using unlicensed scripts.

    It's getting a little old.

I got scammed 3 times by 3 different submitters this week!

That's not how Paypal charge backs "work".
They work when you email Paypal saying someone hacked your account to send the payment. Even if it was 100% you, and you were on your own IP etc., Paypal will still believe your "hacker" story and refund you 99% of the time. This works on general online shopping sites as well.

Post their names. I won't complain!
It's not like you'd be posting the names of people or humans. Just dung beetles or lower. Who cares? Not like they have feelings such as a person would.

Yeah it happened to me too, I pay with paypal and if I don't get what I payed for, I request a refund, paypal usually gives me my money back within 30 days.
