Hello, I joined the desihackerz forum, saw that he was posting those and linked them here on DP. That's all. I don't have anything better than what is displayed on the thread, sorry. PS.. desihackerz.com is no longer ther, We all reported them and they were taken down, but they have a new forum. ProHackerz.com keep an eye on it. They are doing more buying and selling of stolen bank, PP and other accounts. Thanks, Rich
One of my stolen domains, GJRF.com, is now listed on this site: http://www.llgoo.com/bbs/archiver/tid-3150.html I am tyring to find out what language it is now, so that I can translate the text. EDIT: It is Simplified Chinese. The info does not mean much. It just lists out the domains that got dropped on 7/20/2007. I bought it after that time, I just now found out what it was. Ohh well, thought I had something.. LOL
Okay guys here is a link to the transaction that took place re some of the stolen domains http://www.goldage.net/member-membe...html#post390151 The guy who has them now is: Tampubolon, Bangun home Jl. He also runs a website http://www.goldgame4u.com
So the domains have been sold to someone else? This is a difficult situation... If the buyer is legit, it is unlikely that he would hand over the domains to anyone else because he already paid for them... Let's say you bought some domains for $1200. Then someone comes to you and claims that those are stolen domains, and you should hand over the domains. Would you do that? Possible if you can get your $1200 back, otherwise... I don't think anyone would want to "lose" $1200 that easily. (that is, IF he is a legit buyer!)
Stolen property is stolen property and he is in effect in possession of stolen property. As for being paid for the domains well lets look at it another way. You have your $30,000 car stolen, the thief sells it for $15,000 and a couple of months later the car is found in possession of the new "owner". What do you think happens in this case? Do you pay the new owner $15,000 to get your car back? Certainly not! The car is returned to the rightful owner without charge. It is the new owners loss.
That's not a good analogy... with cars, you can "trace" the buy-sell-buy links. With police help, eventually the thief will get caught. With domains? How could you catch the thief? And if you are that new owner (when you bought, you know nothing about the stolen names) would you give away the names that easily? The new owner should try to investigate the seller; but in this virtual world, is it possible to get your money back? In the end, the scammer wins. That's the sad truth. Of course, the scammer CAN get caught IF he is not "careful enough" in doing his activities. Otherwise it is just impossible -- unless GoDaddy helps you in some way
So if one of the domains that had been stolen was of extremely high value....let's say sex.com for instance..and the scammer sold it for a couple of million to an unsuspecting buyer. You think the original owner should pay a couple of million to get it back?? I think it is pretty clear that would not happen! The law is clear about recovered stolen property....The original owner is still entitled to the property no matter how it got into the hands of whoever is in possession of it when it is recovered.
With such high-value names, you know exactly WHO the buyer and seller are. (very likely the transaction was done using escrow or some legal stuff) In this case: do you know WHO the seller/buyer is? What kind of protection do you have? You may say the law is clear, but... Is it possible to enforce the law? Facts.
