Never outsource an important project to India, China, etc.

 

Oh really? Can you explain why so? Which countries do you suggest outsourcing to?

 

@crazysheep8mysub : i don't think so, i has been scammed by an Indian but that's not mean I will never deal with any Indian anymore. Lesson learned in my case : i pay money upfront via escrow first and then release the money on project schedule (that's the rule) but the mistake is I have an exception to pay more for him via Paypal (because i want to force him to do the project one time with the quality that i expect, but seem i'm stupid to think that) and when everything go bad i lost money for nothing, so don't break the rule and you will be fine with any outsource services.

 

@ BizMan: I have generally seen people with dirty english land up in such troubles...Even we have had many such clients coming up to us and saying:
I need a script installed on my website, your support department must do it...else i will screw your reputation...

WE ARE FREAKIN WEB HOSTS...we dont do script installation..
we have a similar case here..
your english is posing a problem,
Now all you can do is give it more time because matrix solution is an indian company...they won't scam you..!!

 

@myindianhost.com: Yes i gave that guy 3 week to solve the issue with me and i thought like you this Indian company won't scam me that's why i don't request chargeback at the moment i still have the chance to do, but he even don't bother to reply in my email, PM on forum,etc,..., also promise "I will give the money back today" but the "today" never happend. You need to ask a question why I gave him 50% money of the project upfront and spent 2 month with him but then cancel the project and request the moneyback, maybe you need to see some bad feedback about him :

1. "Very poor communications - we had to abandon the project, I suspect other reviews are not factual"

2. ""can be done easily" were his exact words.... sadly that wasn't true. I wouldnt recommend this guy to anyone... He can't even Slice a PSD into Html!! ...He was Late, on top of that, he had excuses, the work was awful! even after I told him what I wanted, he got it wrong AGAIN!... its rediculious, please don't go anywhere near this guy. who knows, maybe those other ratings are fake!

3."Stalled around for nearly a month. Changed root access to server without notice. Waffled in and out trying to con us out of more money. Have no idea where this other feedback is from, friends I would assume and fake projects. DO NOT WORK with the con. There is another similar post/rating from another legitimate buyer here. Story sounds just like our experience. Work with this con if you like - I paid $100 to post this here. My karma is clean. You have been warned."

 

I think you guys got to the bottom of the problem, lack of communication. It is very hard to get a job done if the two party involved in a project can't communicate properly...

 

Maybe they want to warn other people?

Before open this thread I did everything that you guy thought : settle everything between us, make chargeback. But...

- Settle everything between us : I just request 70% moneyback and he agree to do it in 1 week when he got money from other customer will pay him via Paypal (that's what he said), but 3 week later i still haven't get the money back even I sent email,PM on forum, etc to him every 4 day to expect he will explain for me but he didn't bother to reply, when he knew i opened this thread (i sent the last email to inform him) he immediately appear to flame me with false information as you can see, that's funny.

first he started the project at 5000$, after 1 week he said to me i cant pay 5000, i will pay 4200$
i agreed, then again after 2 days, he said i did a calculation mistake and i am sorry , i will pay only 4000$,
by this time, i did much work on clone of facebook in 8-9 days and i could not stop
now in a month, he says , i cannot pay , so i abandon project , he ahd paid 1000$ in escrow first and in middle of month , he paid 1000$ in paypal because that time he was satisfied, thats why he paid else nobodies pays

now if he says discontinue, who will pay for one month work

those who dont believe me , he says quality was weired, i tell u all, i changed all design now on all the code i made for him

these kind of buyers usually do like this with coders, they dream of becoming president and are actually beggars (sorry to say this but its a fact) and mentally harass coders

Well said, there's always a way to resolve issues without washing your dirty linen in public. That ain't gonna help anyone. What's escrow for?

 

Escrow is a holding account. Money gets put in by the buyer, with real escrow, the buyer cannot simply remove the money. This lets the seller know that the money actually exists. Money does not get removed from the escrow account until goods/services are delivered (or on a schedule).

@codingtable - I was answering The Pheonix's question about escrow. I was not making any comment about the situation between yourself and bizman911.

To answer your question, it does not look bad but proves nothing. I would not comment on the situation at this point as neither of you has provided much in the way of evidence. The only evidence posted at this point has been a screenshot of the disputed paypal transaction (in and of itself proves nothing except that there is a dispute), a copy of the contract (which was misrepresented by you as requiring 100% escrow when it clearly states a 25% advance with the rest to be released on milestones option), and the link that you put up to show the work that had been done (the link doesn't show up until two weeks after the start of this thread and shows only a portion of the contracted work). None of this evidence shows anything actionable. Where are the emails, IM logs, actual conversations? I probably wouldn't comment on the situation even with those, but certainly I can come to no conclusion with the lack of evidence that has been supplied so far.

If I paid $1000 for that I would be pissed, simple as this mate you have taken his money and clearly by seeing that page you are not upto making a quality site which was required. Maybe you should think before taking on work which you cannot complete. I use to do the same thing when I first started out except I would never take money and run I said my apoligies and sent it back.

You can chargeback your Paypal fund... and if you know his personal information..you can sue him...

 

@codingtable : don't give false information anymore, you can't prove anything because the truth is the truth, you promised me the quality of the project is perfect, i even gave you instruction on what i need in detail so that you don't lost time later to correct, but when i have a first look at the project (just 5%) after paid money upfront to you i decided cancel the project right away and request the moneyback (just 70% of the money), why i do that ? just for fun or want to become a beggar like you said ?

@designerz : as i said i tried with Paypal and my issue bank but all of them can't handle it because the day I request the chargeback is too late within the day of the transaction, i thought about sue him but i don't know how (i'm not base in US and he's too).

@all: The total lost from me for this project not only 1000$ that he cheated me it also the cost for logo,page design that i hired another company to do (total 1000$) and the important is the passion for my favourite project.
