This person deposited 2000.00 in my paypal account and now he wants me to transfer money to my bank account and send him the funds western union. I heard of the check scam before where they send you check and you cash it and send them the money western union and police come knocking on your door when check comes back no good.I never heard of anyone actually deposited funds in your paypal account (the money is there 2000.00 not an echeck.)I reported it to paypal and got a stupid response.I checked the person info who sent the funds and it said that the person is an unregistered paypal user. not sure what to do here,any help would be appreciated.
Thank for the heads up but i was planning on leaving it there but what i want to know where the money came from. who he ripped off,The money will rot in account for all i care. I told paypal to take it out and send back where came from.it has been almost 3 weeks and money still there.
Most likely, whoever he ripped off will want the money back and PayPal will eventually remove it, once it is reported. Don't worry about it, but, most importantly, do not touch it.
If i would have took that money and withdrew to bank account and sent it to him.I could be charged for money laundering.
If you send it to them they could dispute sending you the money with paypal and then they will do a charge back and you will be out $2k in the end. Plus, it is illegal. If you live in the US and you do it then you could possibly face jail time. I would email paypal about it then, if they don't do anything. I would email them again telling them your going to refund the amount and then 'refund' the amount. It also could be the scammed another person and needs to move it out of their account really fast so paypal will not freeze the funds in their account.
just tell the paypal team... tell them to check the money... and tell them you don't know from where that money.. just refund it.. so you will be save...
Umm all you can do is let paypal sort it out, I do believe there is a "refund" option on most transactions btw.
