I'm a student at Clemson University. In the wake of the Hurricane, i heard that we had a tornado spawn somewhere around the perimeter of the campus, but I didn't get to see it.

    "the hurricane? Which one?"

The big tropical depression on America's east coast. :p
I thought it was rather noticable.

I heard there was a new one out there. :p And a tropical depression is not a hurricane. ;)

Frances is now a tropical depression making it's way up north, after kicking some Florida buttinsky.

Florida is again keeping an eye on Ivan; a solid category 4 storm that will most likely at least glance at us....

Oh, and we're still getting rained on dammit. I forget what the sun looks like!

I'm in Broward county; which didn't get the worst of the storm. Power outages and a few trees/branches down.

In 1964, Florida was hit with 3 hurricanes in a 6-8 week period. 150 years or so ago; Florida got hit with 2.

It's been a long time coming; every year you expect to get hit and don't. Breathe a sigh of relief. It's our turn I guess.

Can't wait for November. All this preparation is wearin on me nerves; I take care of 2 households, which results in a no stop mode.

I know there are some cycles in nature but where and when storms will occur over decades in not predictable. It's like flipping a coin, just because you got 10 tails in a row doesn't mean you have any greater chance of getting a 'heads' the next flip. :)

I'm in Florida; born and raised here. I can handle the winders and such; but donate to your Red cross if you have a spare buck. The news today is they need help; what with our 2 hurricanes, Ivan hit in Grenada - 90% of homes are damaged, and now the storm heading for Jamaica and Cuba before it hits us.

And on a capitalistic note: Just think of all the overtime available! People are working their butts off!
