Saving Vista audio recording

I want to add an audio to my website. I'm running Vista so used its audio recorder.(Accessories - Sound Recorder)
This only allows me to save the recording as a windows media audio file.
How do I convert this to a flash file?
I used to be able to do so before Vista, but Vista does not offer a choice of saving as say, MPEG Layer 3 nor does it offer a choice of bits per sec, or save as All files.

How do you guys make and upload your audio files to your website?

    Help appreciated.

Wow that is nasty, WMA file is perhaps one of the worst formats out there.

Here is what I would recommend, use a third party software to make your recording.

Audacity is free and you can do some fun stuff using this software.

    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

You can save in just about any format you want, from MP3 to WAV

It is just like MS to try and limit your options.

let me know how it works out for you.

Awesome. Thanks reelstuff. I'll give it a whiz and see what happens.
