I don't see how it is... I don't ask anyone to click the ads I don't draw attention to the ads - or even mention them on the page from my perspective I don't even care if it gets clicks - The page was NOT designed just for adsense - although thats the thing I can see might be percieved as a problem. Everytime I go to take the ads down, I see another couple of clicks and decide to leave them up. Then I come here and get the heebie jeebies - thinking about losing my AdSense account. Maybe I should take it more seriously - I mean AdSense = less that 1/10th of 1% of my income streams, but the POTENTIAL is of course much larger.
Well to me it was like you're asdking them Indirectly to Click to SAVE the KID!!! Though you might be right and i might be wrong but thats what was the first impression i got. (Seriously i thought its another Adsense account banned dont be mad at me on this lolz)
If you were in a dark room during a thunder storm and I came up behind you and said BOO Would you jump (fear of losing Adsense account)......
Well i guess Canada is quite far away from here and we dont have many thunderstorms here plus i wont do anything Stupid that would cost me to loose my account so .....
I would email Google and ask. Thats the only way to know for sure. They won't ban you for asking. The answer from them will either be yes or no. Then you will sleep at night.
Great point! i would even take down the ads while waiting for the reply (so you'd essentially be asking if it was ok to place adsense on that page).
The thing I thought about was, if in fact posting it here on the forum and talking about the donations in this thread might well be a TOS problem
I know that some Google guys frequent other forums. Not sure about this one yet, but it's only a matter of time. I'm sure they "Google" things like this though LOL.
Yes, they do frequent this forum. It has been mentioned a couple of times before in 'adsense cheater'-type threads
Okay - heres what I came up with Nothing wrong with the page. Ads are okay - theres a question about the wording under the 'donation' buttons "All proceeds..." could be interpreted as inclusive of PPC income. My final take on this is: As an advertiser, do I want my ads on this page - I have to guess with most of these ads - probably not. I don't think the advertisers are getting a quality click through audiance. Ad clickers are not likely to be searching for the products/services in the ads, so are unlikely to convert. As an advertiser I would be upset to pay for clicks through these ads. I have removed the ads, donation buttons and all content - except for my little buddy the $11 can go back to google as far as I'm concerned - I'll give Anthony the $$ out of my pocket rather than the poor advertisers.
Well anything that says do this (solicit clicks) for whatever reason could be shady, the moral of the story is if you are not sure submit your page to Google or any other vendor before you violate anyone's TOS. PS: no one is saying for sure that the page was a violation anyway.
Yeah - I guess better safe than sorry - I'm just glad everyone got a chance to see my son during his first incarceration - so proud
I saw nothing wrong at all on the page itself. The only thing I could see POSSIBLY causing problems is the actual discussion about it here. Google may interpret that as enouraging people to click on the ads. JAWz
Actually that was the PayPal donation button - but everything is gone now just to be sure - it was supposed to be a silly page anyways its not silly anymore - I can't even remember what I thought was funny about it now, so I just took it all down - easier
