Thousands of students from Saudi Arabia are enrolling on college campuses across the United States this semester under a new educational exchange program brokered by President Bush and Saudi King Abdullah. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/09/09/national/main1990078.shtml Seems like attacking the USA has it's rewards. I'm all for cultural exchange and understanding. But what about the other mideast countries that didn't attack us on 9/11? Shouldn't we be promoting understanding region wide instead of just with Saudi Arabia? Shouldn't we be just a bit wary of 15 thousand Saudi students coming here when 15 out of the 19 hijackers were Saudi's?
Oh cripes. That will put enormous pressure and expense on security. That is an incredibly wierd program to be instituting at this time. That is 15,000 opportunities for terrorism...or alternatively a requirement to watch 15,000 people closely....or alternatively trying to find the 4 people out of 15,000 that might be dangerous.
15,000 people are not coming to the US, please get the story right. They are going the US and 3,000 other countries. I don't think the exact number coming here is known quite yet. I think its wonderful that the universities have their heads in the right position: http://www.heraldsun.com/firstnews/37-768186.html KA Ching! Money money money! M O N E Y ! Gotta love the universities
