I am not "implying" anything and yes, marriage in Islam does require the wali (guardian's) consent or the consent of the bride herself in order for the marriage to occur. If neither of these are fulfilled, then the marriage contract is invalid.

 

The point is that the followers of the Prophet (PBUH) loved him more than they loved their families or themselves, thus contradicting the allegation that the Prophet (PBUH) was a "feared"[sic] person. A nonsense which is refutable in various hadith.

Will you marry off your 12 year old daughter to a ready-to-die 90+ years old junk because, as a guardian, you have the so-called right to consent even if it goes against her wishes? Would you enjoy life with a husband 80+ years older than you if you were force married at your 25th age?

 

The fact that an 80 year old man is marring a 12 year old girl, proves that they are being sold by the parent solely for sex. Like you said what life could an 80 year old man provide if he can die of old age at any minute... Just becuase a parent give consent does not make it right, just goes to show that young girls are being sold for sex, under the cover of Islam... In general, Muslims use the "Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed" rule of thumb.

Of course, young girls can be sold into marriage before they are bleeding. They can still be used as sex toys before they are old enough to be made pregnant.
