Letter in local newspaper... Dear Yolande Steyn, While you openly state your beliefs in your letter, you too are as ignorant about Satanism as the rest of the world. It grates me every time I see an article relating to Satanism. Whether it's murder or torture or just plain stupid harassment, all one needs to do is leave the sign of the Baphomet and suddenly it was an act of Satanism. What the hell is wrong with you people? Can you not take five minutes to educate yourselves on the church of Satan or the Temple? These people who run around raping, torturing and murdering in the name of Satan haven't the foggiest clue! I don't think a single reader or even "informed journalist" has ever considered investigating what I stand for. I don't belong to any cults, I have solid Christian friends and live an ordinary life. I abide by 11 sins, 9 statements and 11 commandments. These are my rules and my guidelines. I live a good life, I am kind and generous and value life. The only difference in my life is that I believe God, the creator, is wrong. But that's not the point of this letter. My faith keeps me strong It is my faith that keeps me strong, regardless of what anyone else says. I am happily married and have worked hard to get where I am today, just like everyone else. I'd like to ask that in future, the people of the world could look upon Satanism the same way as Christianity. There are many factions and only a small ignorant group claim pointless bloodshed as necessary sacrifice. You have Catholicism, Roman orthodox and even a New Reformed Church all falling under the word Christianity. Hell there are even "Jews for Jesus" running around. But because of inbred naivety Satanism is never respected. If every Satanist is a bad person, then all Muslims are terrorists, all Germans are Nazis and all white South Africans are racists. To the Pagan community: you guys try so hard not to be labelled "Satanists" so that people will respect you and learn from you: Have you ever wondered what a Satanist goes through? Have you ever bothered to investigate what our life is about? All you're concerned with is your own image. You're quick to stand up and deny any relation to our way of life but I ask you one question: Who brought your "magic" to this world in the first place? Tonight I sacrifice my favourite Barbie and Ken dolls in the name of cheesecake and luminous leg warmers, that'll show the world! Fed-up XXXXX
