Ok, so i've got this computer (motherboard is a ASUS K8V-MX) and this sata hard drive (I think its a seagate, but i dont have the box...). About once a week I go to turn on the computer and the drive repeatedly fails to Spin-up. the only resolution is to reseat the sata cables. Ive tried three different cables, all with the same result. The connectors on the Motherboard look kinda flimsy, enough for the connector to wobble quite a bit. My PC is stacked on top of my other PC, and snugly fit between a desk and a wall, so I know its not moving around. Any suggestions?
you can replace your HDD from your Hardware Vender bcoz, Sata have 5 years replacement warranty thanks
Have you try the disk on other PC? If it working, the problem is on your motherboard. Otherwise, just like crownrahul said, get a replacement for the disk if it still under a warranty.
My other pc doesnt have sata, this one is the only one I own that does. it wouldnt work anyways, because there is no consistencey between the failures. Im probably just going to buy a quality sata cable off ebay; the ones I have are probably just cheap. my other pc is some sort of generic MB with a AMD Duron in it.
