interesting article...i actually like his stance on some of the issues mentioned in it..
my favorite is how he calls the US to lead in the fight on global warming, not to impede France's effort in it. He sounds like a winner...only if the US could have him as a president haha

I'm glad he's won, not that France or French politics interests me in the slightest but simply because a lot of people on DP with wacky views didn't want Sarkozy to win (thus telling me he was the best candidate:p )

That in itself is a sign that the good people of France chose wisely.

It's a good sign when bad people are unhappy. :D

I vote for the people who don't smile all the time. I go for the serious-looking people. Sarkozy looks like that person.

Unfortunately in the UK, nobody is serious enough, they all want a good image.

I think he will. I have faith in the next round of world leaders so far, since people seem to be sick of corrupt, worthless leaders...thanks to the us of course

We've done well with John Howard, Tony Blain, Angela Merkal, Stephen Harper, Fredrik Reinfeldt, Shinzo Abe and Felipe Calderon.

But let's not forget that we've backslid in Venezuela, Iran, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Ecuador and Nicaragua.

The cause of freedom has done well since the beginning of the Renaissance in the 14th century, but the small pertubations in that patten can seem anything but small to the unfortunate people caught up in them.
