Right. He doesn't look like Santa Claus to me. Looks more like the pope in the days of Constantine and the Holy Roman Empire before civilzed people thought of separating church from state. And the elves aren't there truly because their boss, the Santa, isn't there.

No it's not the 'Original' Santa Claus.. It is, as you said, Sinterklaas.. Santa Claus is a reinvented figure by Americans based on Sinterklaas.
