Sandboxes new site section?

I have been running a blog for a year and a half, and recently added a new folder / content for a wiki we put together in /wiki/. Within 24 hours we were #1 - #14 for the terms that we wrote wiki articles about, the next day we were no where to be found for those terms

Does Google sandbox new sections of your site, even if you have good PR and such after a while of being live?

    Thanks

It's just the new content boost. It lasts a short while and goes back to sandbox.

Thanks INV! Sorry but I'm a newbie to the SEO thing (as everyone says).

So i guess the issue here is that anything in the folder /wiki/ is sandboxed? Even though the overall site is a PR 6 and the normal blog gets ranked quite well?

    Thanks again.

Well, sometimes you might get a high ranking for pretty nice terms but they are only temporary because its new content the engine finds. If it disapeared completly then it might of gotten sandboxed still try to rank it back.
