I rank number 1 for both MSN and Yahoo for my keywords but am nowhere in site with Google. The site is relatively new at about 4 months old... am I in the sandbox? I don't know much about the whole sandbox effect so if anyone can shed some light, I'd appreciate it! Thanks, Kirsty
Which site? Google often picks up sites much slower than Yahoo and MSN ... but sometimes its just differences in ranking algorithms. For example, if you type my first name into Google, my silly humor site comes up between #1 and #3 (depending on the day). However, it doesn't come up in the top 100 for Yahoo or MSN. Anita
I started a new site and was indexed immediately but basically ignored by google in its rankings. It took about 4 months and wham! PR5 and good rankings. If its been 4 months for you should be very close to getting out of the "sanbox"
if you don't wanna get sandboxed you should optimize some features. Name the images on your web site after keywords related to your website, write useful content that people would want to look at, update the content frequently (Google likes new stuff ) which prevents your web site from being sandboxed. Optimize the content! Search Engines are blind. They only see valid HTML codes. Make sure that the page has a valid XHTML, because search engines find it easier to read valid codes. Use for example h1 for the most important title and h2 for the name of the second important and so on. The title of the page is important, that is why you should put "name of page" followed by "name of site" and not the other way round. Make sure that the name of the page precedes the name of the site. Put the content of the page at the top which is more valued by SEs.
Content is king Link building strategy is another important issue not only will it improve ranking but also it will help Googlebot spider to find your pages easier while it’s in the sandbox instead of repeatedly submitting your website every time. More Information : seoupdate.blogspot.com
