Sandboxed for backlinks

If you get too many back links too quickly will Google sandbox your site?

 

Yes, especially if your site has been registered or first "cached" by Google just a few days back.

 

What is a safe amount per week?

 

I don't think there is a set number for this. The goal is for your link building to appear natural. It wouldn't make sense for a new website to start getting hundreds of backlinks from high PR websites for example.

What I do is start slow with social bookmarking and ezinearticles and slowly diversify my link building efforts.

I'm still semi-new to this though

 

You can buy one high pr link to be indexed fast, but also you can write some article and post it to dig, stumbleupon, and get indexed fast and for free. First start with social networks like facebook, twitter etc. This is natural and safe way. Can take some time, but is way to do. Don’t be lazy.

 

I wouldn't worry about it ... unless you're getting hundreds of thousands of low quality links ..... if you get them naturally (ie. a viral video / campaign) then Google will be able to see this.

No i'm no where near that, in 4 months i have 275 with only about 15 reciprocal links

 

how much link is good for one weak wise?

 

I'm going to try and get about 25 a week, that over 1250 in a year...

 

I dont think that getting links should be banned by google even for a new website since it is always possible that lets suppose there is a big event coming our way Soccer worldcup and its website is launched, it will certainly get very high number of backlinks in very limited time. But google must be having the type of links checks. If all the links are coming from blog comments and are coming very fast with no contextual links from within content and thousands of such links within very short period may trigger some alarms in google and then your site may be sent to the sandbox to rest a little

 

What do you mean "contextual links from within content"

 

There are various section in a web page, like header, footer, right navigation, link sections etc. The most important section of all of these is the content area where search engines find real meat for their hunger. This is the section where links are important, so lets say you have a link in the footer from a trusted website v/s a link from within content of that page. Obviously contextual ad within content is more important and will rate higher.

Google identified blogs and thus links in the comment section are not that important even in content area (comment area)

 

be careful with the reciprocal links.too many will harm you,one way links are the best

 

I usually start off low with like 5-10 per week and then ramp it up over a couple of weeks.

 

That is nice if you can get that amount. If you keep building links on a regular basis, you are not likely to be sandboxed. But you need to be careful about those reciprocal links, they might not be that helpful at all. I think the most important thing is to do your link building naturally and white hatly.

 

Google never mind how many back links you got in short period of time.But you need to get these back links in natural way.Also get back links from related website.

 

Would you class recip links as 'black hat'?

 

- 25 every week won't seem natural will it?

 

I did not mean 25 exactly, i meant 20 - 30 ish, would you think that was normal?
