Yes, I have managed to get my site banned from Yahoo and sandboxed by Google:eek:

Any help in what to remove or add would be appreciated. I don't get any business from my site but I love to work on it. Unfortunately I seemed to have stumbled into a real mess:D

    Thanks for any advice

This is like the 4th post I have seen tonight about this. You must really need some help.:)

I don't know Yahoo's policies. I would guess they are about the same as Google. So links; you have some file sharing links and gambling links. You might review the TOS to see what other things you have in that directory that you should not.

I did not look at all cats but those two items jumped out at me.

A question. What does this directory have to do with your main site? I see no relationship to home inspection. It defocuses your site. That alone may have cost you some ranking. A niche directory related to home repair might be an asset. A general directory is a distraction.

I did not look at your forum. Is it on topic or is it a general discussion area?

Keep a site focused. If you want to play with other things buy a new domain and play there. I learned that one the hard way.

    Best wishes,

    Thanks Colbyt,

I was in a panic, i used tools at searchenginegenie and found my site banned and sandboxed, so after working so hard, was a little frustrated. My forum is totally dedicated to home inspection type info, my directory is not. I have another link directory also, one is on napoleon.cc and other is in sub-domain. Unfortunately I am stuck with them as I don't want to delete them because of the links I am getting back. Any advice on how to improve link situation?

    Thanks

Okay. I misunderstood what you said. I thought you had Yahoo advertising on your site and had been banned from that.

The following is just an opinion and it isn't based on enough solid knowlege to be absolutely accurate. Hopefully someone with a little more seo knowledge will reply. It is a holiday weekend here in the states. The weekends are always slower here at DP.

You aren't banned anywhere. I also doubt you are in the sandbox. You have lost page status for a search term you should own. IMO, because you used that same term when listing your site on pages that were ranked higher than your own.

Additionally some of the sites you have exchanged or submitted links to may have the index and no follow attribute set. Again, IMO this is a semi black hat technique used to steal your thunder. Your term or site gets indexed but the link goes to them when someone searchs for it.

One thing I did notice that you may want to change. I could not find a link from your main page to your directory. If you have it on your site it should be linked. Otherwise it raise red flags. The forum is linked from the main page.

Some numbers to make you feel better:
Yahoo reports 134 inbound links to your main page, 268 links to total site.
Google reports 1030 links to your site, no breakdown.
MSN lists 212 pages with your site as #1

As a start for "what to do", you need to get your keywords on your pages without overdoing. I am going to PM you something because if I post it in this thread it will be in the top 10 for Google instead of what you want.
