I have a crappy little site that's in my sig, I beleive it's in the sandbox in google and yahoo because it's in top ten on MSN but not in the top 1000 serps on google/yahoo. It's target audience has nothing to do with it’s name but if I type the name of the site “keysheet†in while searching google or yahoo it’s at or near the top. My question is if I did have a site that’s name was exactly what the popular key phrase is should I expect to be at or near the top of the results? Secondly does having the exact popular keyword or phrase as title help us avoid the sandbox a little?
In my limited experience, the keyword in the domain name helps and keywords in the file name helps. Although too many hyphens are spammy, I´ve had success with word-word-word.html in the file names. But a good domain name or file name alone won´t do it. You have to have all the other ducks in a row too.
Well this is going to sound so cheesy but it was my first site and I heard that I could probably offset any costs and make a little money along with gaining experience so I made a paid survey site. So, my keywords are, paid survey, get paid, paid opinion etc. My site was launched In December but it changed the host and re launched it in mid January.
Thank you Freebies. I think so too. He´s got a sister and she´s a cutie too - obviously they get their looks from MY side of the family.
Here's how you tell if you are in the sandbox: 1st, it only applies to Google. 2nd, your site must have been launched after Feb. 2004 3rd, your site must have never been on the same IP (host) for more than 6-8 months before coming out of the sandbox Your site meets the above qualifiers. However, your site does not meet these qualifiers (at least based on the keyword paid survey): Visible ranking for Google search: allinanchor: paid survey Visible ranking for Google search: allintext: paid survey Visible ranking for Google search: allintitle: paid survey Visible ranking for Google search: allinurl: paid survey (I didn't see your site in the top 100 for any of these) More evidence that you may be sandboxed would be strong results in MSN & Y! but I only see your site at 40ish on MSN and not in the top 100 on Yahoo. So, while your site may very well be in the sandbox, there is no evidence to support that conclusion. If I were you, I would work on acquiring more links. MSN says you have 59 right now. That's a good start, but you definitely need more. Check out Link Vault's link network to build your inbound links quickly. I highly recommend it. Once you have a lot more links, your performance on Yahoo & MSN will increase, and then we'll really be able to see if you're in the sandbox.
