Sandbox period for eBay niche/BANS-type site?

Just wondering what people's experience is with getting a new site off the ground. My best-performing site is one which I integrated into an existing, well-rated blog, but new sites that I have created solely as niche sites get no traffic worth mentioning, despite the usual SEO efforts (backlinks, sitemaps etc.)

You guys who are creating hundreds of the darn' things - have you noticed a sandbox effect with new eBay niche sites, and how long does it last?! Or is it just a case of needing more work?

As a matter of interest, what do you consider to be worth while traffic levels

Oh, I dunno, I guess a good 50-100 clicks a day is the minimum to really see ANY sales. But new sites see absolutely zero sales, so it feels like they are being totally ignored. At least if you are getting, say 100 organic visits a day (which I think is about right for one of my better sites), then you can start building on that. If you're getting zero, it's kind of not very motivating..!

How long have you worked on your niche sites?

Well, as I say, the better-performing one is integrated into an existing personal blog with PR4, which is 18 months old, so I am happy with the performance (it got indexed and started seeing traffic within days).

But I only just really got into the eBay feed and stuff AFTER writing my own WP plugin, so I have some sites which are less than 2 months old maybe and seeing zero traffic.

It would be nice to know what kind of time-frame we are looking at for a niche site to start showing some search traffic, with some reasonable work put in - whether it is the same as for any site (months sometimes).

Actually, I find that it depends on the site, the niche, the level of resources you put in, and many other things.I only find slight correllations within niches,

I believe the general view is that such a site will perform much like any other
