Hi again, My site has been live for about 3 months now, and as I've said on previous threads, is doing very well on MSN for rankings(front page for most keywords), but not too good on Google.(120-150) Now, my question is this. Is my search position on Google likely to be the result of sandboxing, or is it just that Google doesn't like my site? (I ask cos it's hard to figure out whether the "sandbox" just results in lower SERPS or stops you showing altogether) Fairly competitive Keywords (2.5 million sites listed) and my site is PR3 Would appreciate your input, but again I don't want to list the URL cos some of you guys seem to have a highly charged spam filter!!
We all want to be at the top of the big G, but you will find very few sites that are in the top 10 for all the "big 3" serps. I'm also a little worries that you may not have anough high powered "google recognised" back links to your site, as you said you have a PR of 3, which is not to great. I would still stick with it as I predict you will come up in the serps, just not as much as you would like. In the meantime keep working on building quality links and add content to you site. after a while you will be a lot more certain about where your site is.
Keep doing what your doing to rank well in MSN. Keep getting inbound links. Your site is new and most likely feeling the sandbox filter. I would give it 6 to 9 more months before I would look at how the site is doing in Google.
Yeah, Google can be a real bitch. It took me months to get out of the sandbox, and honestly, now that I'm out, I'm still not seeing the best results - even though I rank #1 in MSN for my keywords. But then, that's my own fault for not keeping up my website. I find that the more you upload your site with new content, the more google likes you.
True, true! Google likes fresh content and the googlebot will have a feast on a site that get updated regularly.
