Is it possible to be still sandboxed when your main target KW is on page 7? returns 4 million results allinanchor: shows page 1 Before i pay someone to help me should i wait some more? I have come to a dead end now and don't know what to do. Its been 10 months since first crawl. So my main point is: Has anyone been sandboxed before but there main target KW was in the top 100 results and not 300 and something like most people have experienced. Thanks!
hmmm... you only mentioned a few details about your site. Is your main target keyword a very competitive keyword? Maybe that's the cause of you being in the 7th page of the serps. It's generally going to be easier to rank with less competitive phrases. have you been updating your site lately and adding new content? have you been getting relevant natural inbound links? the sandbox effect can affect a site relatively, it could take 6-8 months, some even more. My advice would be If you can encourage a large number of natural inbound links (such as people give without your asking them to provide), you can get out of the sandbox earlier. But don't focus way TOO much on link building, focus on building good content and achieving visibility through non-linking means. And then sit on it and wait. I don't know if that was any help but good luck with the site!
redQueen >>>>If you can encourage a large number of natural inbound links (such as people give without your asking them to provide) <<<< In the real word that rarely happens for new websites. I can see your logic but it just doesn't happen ;-) >>>>you can get out of the sandbox earlier<<<< What evidence do you have for this? Thanks for your comments ^^ megri >>>>Matt Cutts says there is no Sandbox.>>>> LOL Matt is a funny guy The sandbox is a fact however Matt & Co may have another interpretation for it. All the time he is a Google employey i would take everything he says with a pinch of salt ;-) Looking at the top 10 listings for the KW im trying to rank for their link popualrity and who links to them, who they link out to, my site is very similar in that respect, thats why i dont get why the key words didnt get a better rank. Content is just as good, some pages even better than some of them. Saying all this its now shot back to page 15 back to where it was pre-Jagger. Something i have noticed (strange) you could find my site searching for it in the "pages from the UK" index. During Jagger it vanished from there but jumped to page 7 in the normal index "the web" now its back in the "pages from the UK" index. Its as though there are 2 indexes when your site is sanboxed and when it pops out (if that makes sense)
Why do people keep saying it. I have seen him say the exact opposite. He said there is not a sandbox perse, but the effect is real and is because of how the algorithims work. When people refer to being sandboxed, he does not deny that is happening. He just said there is not a specific filter designed to keep new websites out of the index. It is just a side-effect of other filters.
