Sandbox is myth: Proof

    That's quite a remarkable proof, BigBob.

    I guess my remark would be that Roman's picture of the sandbox "proves" you're mistaken.

    Here's the text from a blog post on my site in which I am commenting about the #1 Google rankings quickly acheived for a few important keywords:

    "It looks like we've having some success with quickly getting into good search engine rankings, but will it last?

    Some people are of the opinion that the Google "sandbox" catches up to to sites like this - that we might enjoy a brief time in top ranking positions, then get moved down - way down - in rankings for months before we begin to rise again.

    Others say there is no sandbox - that it's just the normal ebb and flow for top ranking positions among a large number of new and fairly weak players who don't have the strength to hold a position for very long, especially if they are competing for popular keywords.

    I choose to believe the latter. I don't believe Google has a formal "sandbox" program or policy. It's more of a natural effect than a program. I prefer to call it the "sandbox effect."

    We'll be watching to see how the sandbox effect changes our rankings, if at all. We'll report here."
