Second Homepage If your homepage is currently in the sandbox or you want a contingency in case it ever does then consider having a second landing page which looks just like you homepage but not so much that it would be seen as duplicate content. Here is how you would do it. If you homepage has been in the sandbox for longer than a month then there is no point waiting a year or more for it to come out. Whilst you are trying every trick in the book to get the homepage out you should also be creating a second home page to use instead. Firstly - look to see if another one of the sites pages has high PR or comes up high in searchs. If you have such a page then turn that into your new homepage being sure not to duplicate content. Take your prefered title tags from you homepage and put it on this page instead and optimise it to suit your keywords. You can de-optimise your homepage as its not coming up in searches anyway. If you don't have a good substitute page then make one with the subdomain using the core keywords. Ie mydomain.com/keywords.html Wait a couple of weeks for google to index it all and hopefully you'll be back in business. Note - keep all you links going to you real homepage and do all the other things to get it out of the sandbox!
Thanks, this is a good idea. The idea of a landing page is very important; this second home page landing page could give you an indented result as long as everything is OK with home page; also you could try slightly different SEO tweaking with each.
Here is the real question. HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOUR HOMEPAGE IS IN THE SANDBOX? Do you search...sandbox.google.com... You guys kill me. Look just stick with the basics...buy your domain...start your site...submit your sitemap.xml file to google webmaster tools and you are on your way. THE REST IS UP TO GOOGLE...NOT YOU!
