    Hi,
we have since a long time the following problem. As we all know google shows only one URL per keyword. But howe does google decides what adtext they will show. It can not only be the bid price, since when we raised it to 8$ we still were not shown. I know its a bit more layeered than just the bidprice, but what other factors does google look at to decide?

    Your thoughts are appreciated,

    Cheers
    C.

quality score of the landing page, how relevant it is to the keyword phrase

also history can play a factor, ctrs and how long visitors stay on your landing page before leaving

    from Google:
    * Quality Score for minimum bid is determined by a keyword's clickthrough rate (CTR) on Google, the relevance of the keyword to its ad group, your landing page quality, your account's historical performance, and other relevance factors.
    * Quality Score for ad position is determined by a keyword's clickthrough rate (CTR) on Google, the relevance of the keyword and ad to the search term, your account's historical performance, and other relevance factors.

Agreed, even if you're bidding $8, but your ctr is 1% you will not be shown versus a competitor with a bid of $1 and a ctr of 10%.

Look at an example of 100 clicks from google's eyes:

    100 x 1% = 1 click x $8 = $8 revenue for google
    100 x 10% = 10 clicks x $1 = $10 revenue for google

Therefore it's a better use of their system for them if they show the ad with the higher ctr.
