So I got the exact same Adsense video ads in both the left and right sidebar. One is giving about 5x the rate eCPM than the other. Can someone please explain this to me???? Thanks is advance
Which one has the better rate? I'm assuming the one on the left has the better rate. If so, it;s a human condition as we read from left to right. The one on the left is the first one we see so it usually gets a better rate. Google for "left side of site adsense" and you should see some discussion on the topic.
Bingo, the left is higher. It's actually come down some but is still twice what the one on the right is. A couple more questions if you please Am I correct in assuming a 250x250 square will pay more per click than a 200x200 square since its bigger??? Second, on any given ad why do the first few clicks tend to pay more in any given day which each subsequent click paying a little less?? Thanks, the sooner I understand this maybe the sooner I make more
Never seen that in writing and a quick glance at my data doesn't show any major difference. The 250 pixel square is supposed to have a higher click rate though over anything else so that might be what you're thinking. Really comes down to personal testing on your site. Some sizes do better than normal on different sites. But the 250 is supposed to be best. *shrug* Different advertisers on different days maybe? While some folks do stuff for the long time, we occasionally see a large number of adverts from a single source for a couple of days. They usually have a higher pay rate than what's normal. It may also be on a different page and different keywords are coming into play. Different keywords have a different rate, depending on how popular they are and who's bidding on them. You'll also occasionally have an advertiser buy out all the adverts on a site. I've had that occasionally happen on my Download from Youtube site. Last one was a "Free electricity" website. Hope this helps, -drmike
