    I was getting spammed by that also. I disabled my Private messages for now.

    They will continue to use proxies and keep on sending Mass PMs to everyone they find. I tried to suggest to make sending PMs to those who have 25 posts or something to cut down spam attempts as it won't be so easy to make 25 posts and then spam rather to just register and spam. Proxies are slow in browsing, so even 25 posts will be a pain and eventually spam will be reduced. But I think my suggestion was rejected. But anyway, what I do is just delete or ignore the stupid PM. I get this PM everyday once or twice and everytime I check, the user is banned already.

    Proxies are very easy to block though.
    If you ping a proxy, then put the IP into here.
    You will see that it hosted at Dream host, FDC servers or The planet etc.
    Then you just get that server companies Net IP range and add to your .htaccess to block. There are only few big players out there for server companies that proxies use you can block litterally thousands of proxies within only few minutes of work.
    since I don't think residental IPs are the same as the Server hosting IPs you only block the servers from accessing your site.
    (like proxies or bots running on them)

    Mdm, may I suggest is that anyway to block the domain so that it appears as ****** , in this way the spammer will realize that he will be wasting his time and he will keep on wasting money on domains because anytime he changed, it can be blocked? This is much easier than blocking users per se.
