Does having 100 backlinks from one website to your website help you pagerank (i.e. in your forum signature) or does it just count as one backlink if they are all from the same website?
100 links from 100 sites > 100 links from 1 site > 1 link from 1 site Definitely, more links have a value greater than one link, but Google's algorithms appear to give a logarithmic weight to the links from a site, so the increase from 1 to 2 links has a greater impact than from 101 to 102 links.
I think after a certain number Google pulls the switch and says hang on these are forum links so you get no more brownie points (I could be wrong) but generally the more links you get from one site, the more this counts towards the number of inbound links that Google takes into consideration. But yes, it would be better if these links were spread over a number of relevant sites.
100 backlinks counts as 100 backlinks... but they carry much less weight as they go on... the first one will give the most and each after that... will help less and less... but overall it doesnt hurt... so cant complain
yes the first link is counted the most....then 2 nd , 102...and so on..it is always wise to have links from different sites
As for me, as you get a huge number of links in a single website (just like in a forums), you gain more backlinks. The better! Just make sure that the site providing a huge number of links is not a LINK FARM.
Yes, links from the same site will help for sure but not much compared to if you get backlinks from different sites.
