I was trying to check if this page from the site was indexed in google site:http://www.gilbertconstruct.com/stylish-ideas-for-decorating-kids-bathroom/ The result shows 4 different results for the same page. Can anyone help with what's the issue here at hand ? Why is the index result showing multiple variations of the same page ? And how to go about fixing this ?
http://www.gilbertconstruct.com/stylish-ideas-for-decorating-kids-bathroom/**** check this on google where i put starts something like sub category added in this url that is why this happen.
I got the problem. You are using wordpress and wordpress media handling is not very seo friendly. So in this case three images that you were using on the kids bathroom page were linking to the attachment page in the past. So they have got indexed. However they do not link to those attachment pages anymore. I checked one of those pages and they are now re-directing to the main page. However check the webcache here : It will show you what google see the old page as. But since its redirecting they should be gone in some time. Whatever is the case, use a canonical url. It will address all your duplication issues.
Thank you for your analysis. Yes, the images were earlier linked to open in a new tab. Few weeks back, I had corrected the issue to delink the attachments. I have that site is set as per canonical url requirements and that the duplication issues should not be there now. Can you check, if there is any duplication issue on the site currently ?
