    Hi,

    Im trying to build up a network of web sites that all support the same industry.

    For example:

    site1 = general motor sales
    site2 = motor wheels
    site3 = specialist ford car sales
    site4 = specialist BMW car sales
    site5 = incar stero equipment

    all of the sites support the same industry 'motor industry' but they all support different areas of the motor industry.

    My question.
    I have a dedicated server ... i want to put all of the above sites on it and then link the different services to one and other.
    I dont beleive this is spam? but will google or any other SE's?
    My only fear is linking the sites on the same ip? will this cause me a problem when each site is different with design and content?

    If your worried just don't inter link them...

    Google will discount the links after its worked out the sites are interlinked..

    Simple as that..

    I have something like that too.
    I have a dedicated server and more then one site on it. they are all sharing the same IP address, and the websites are on different subjects. I link from one to another and they are ranking good (no only because of this). so in my case at least google doesn't see it as spam. I don't think it will in your case either.

    Well, the example in the first post is of sites that are so related by subject that interlinking them should NOT be a problem. Do get them independent links as well though and make sure the text on each site doesn't copy text on the other sites.

    I agree partially. I think we should link them if we think that they are useful for visitors.

    But changing the lin ktext is not a good idea in my opinion. Because if google detects this they will review your site in my opinion before doing any manual action (like banning), and if they see that the link texts are different, hey will easily think that you are doing this for seo purposes.

    But if you add a left/right block (onall of your car related sites) having "Car Network" text (on all of your web sites) in the title and putting all of your car related siets into this block is a better idea imo! In my opinion it looks more professional, especially if you have soem autorithy sites in that block! So you are just marketing your new sites using the old one. If google ban our servers for this, that will be realy unfair.

    I have the same situation and using the scheme above.

    I would like to hear other people's experiences since i am planning to increase the number of sites interlinked? Any good/bad experiences?

    For me it has worked positive way.

    I have still kept it low because I hadn't interlinked the sites that were not realted to each other. But 2 directories can be linked. 2 hosting sites can be linked. etc.
