    Hello guys,

A couple of weeks ago I bought a .COM domain.
2 days after that some piece of *BLEEP* bought the same name, but then with .INFO
Is there anything I can do about this?

He could damage my good name with that, can't he?

From what I've read, you seem like the person more likely to damage someone's good name--what exactly makes you post that this guy is some piece of *BLEEP*?

I typed *BLEEP* my self ;) , as I didn't want to use the word s.h.i.t. on this forums.
I thought anyone will recordnize it anyway.

Why do you think you have more rights to the name than the person who bought the .info? :/ They have as much right to it as you do, unless of course you've trademarked it in which case it's time to speak to the lawyers.

And I thought anyone would recordnize (please point out my misspelling of this word) my question and not get hung up on the '*BLEEP*' that they themselves first used.

Here's my question again: What makes this guy a *insert derogatory term here* and you not a *insert derogatory term here*?

They cannot harm your site, unless they are better than you, but then you should work even more than then to achieve better results. You own .com, so it's better for you.

If you don't lock up your brand it will come down to marketing. I wouldn't worry about it. Just do your best to market and promote your site.

With no trademark in place your only option would be to pursue them on the grounds of passing off but with 2 days difference your going to struggle to even prove this.

It will heavily depend on how similar their site, business, product, customer base etc is to yours, simply a similar domain name wouldn't get you anywhere with passing off if they're selling different products with different branding in different countries etc

The domain world is an open marketplace. Even with a trademark, there's nothing you can do if the owner of the other domain isn't in your country.

On the bright side, .info is shit - so just buy the .net and .org and don't worry about it :D
