Some of my competitors have tons of same IP backlinks coming from different domains. I would like to do some, but my question is how many is too many? They have like 500+ same IP different domain backlinks. I am thinking like 50 is even too many. Yet, they rank really well in Google. My guess is at some point they will get sandboxed, but they haven't yet. Any thoughts?
I have a bunch of car blogs and websites on the same IP, and I use to link them together. Not anymore! I get better serp results from Google without the connection, so they for sure have an alorythm that penalizes for that. Yahoo and Bing on the other hand will love you.
Well from SEO pov its good have a different Class-C IP back link , if its same IP then its weed out and its weightage is not counted as separate back link
Ideally you want all of your links coming from different IP's, however, the more links the merrier. I always shoot for links from different IP's but I certainly won't say no to a link just because I already have some hosted on the same IP.
Imho, links from the same IP will not kill you, but they will not do any good in Google if you have no IP diversity in your other (old) links.
Ok, thanks! I just figured a manual review of G would sandbox this situation for sure, but maybe I am wrong!
I do a lot of autoblogging, I never link blogs on the same IP. I have heard of guys building huge blog farms on the same IP and the whole farm getting sandboxed.
Good to hear! I plan on using this trick to but I think its much better to find dif IP to avoid something bad.
I wouldn't focus on the IP as much as the PR of the sites on that IP. Just because there are 500 sites on one IP does not mean all 500 can't be stellar, quality websites. So get the links where you can, even if on the same domain.
yes, i think what he has to focus on is high PR site and he will get a better rank well in google for example if 100 pr 5 pointing to him and i do not worry it is same IPs or not what i want is building just kidding
