Same domain but changing the niche. IS that Okay?

I have this domain www.ipkr.info and its currently running a proxy. It was getting a lot of traffic for past few days but i couldnt earn anything from it.

So i thought of turning it a poker related site cos it has a similar name. iPoKeR

Is that a good idea??

 

Sure, it is up to you. You can change the niche as you want since your domian mane is quite flaxible

 

If you receive the traffic from search engines you will loose it because you will use another keywords with your new niche. So it will take some time and efforts to rank well for new keywords.

 

Sure, you can do it, it is nothing wrong in doing it.

 

You can do it but you may loose search engine traffic if the new niche is different to the old niche.

 

it currently hosts a proxy and no traffic comes from SE. all come through topsites and newsletters.

No its not a good idea.
I think you should continue to host proxy.
Why don't you place some adsense ads at the proxy?
You can earn from the ads.

 

can you please look at my proxy and check if the adsense placements are okay??

I feel they are okay but the I am not getting any CTR above 0.3%. MAde 20 cents in one week.

 

Adsense placements look ok - but the first advertising popup I got had no graphics, so you might want to take a look at the coding for those [it was ok the second visit].
Good luck - for what its worth I'd stick to the host proxy ... poker sites are a shocking market to try to break into ... but I would consider updating your Copyright notice from 2007.

 

actually its the ads by adversal. they take some time to load. I used to get high traffic before but it has all dried up now.

Why not ? The website is yours . But different people use independent websites for different niches .

 

I would suggest continuing with the proxy site

 

ya..I am continuing with that..will probably sell it afterwards..
