Same database + new user name & pass = not working

    How should I go around fixing this problem? I have a new hosting account with different login name & password than the one stored in the database and it's giving me hell when I try to upload it.... any suggestions?

    Are you talking about uploading the sql file?
    Or what exactly do you need help with?

    the server acts like it has encountered an error when i upload a mysql backup which is in a .tar.gz format... The database is for an invision board
