Hi all, I'm currently a freelance copywriter for a few major corporations and though I enjoy it thoroughly, I would like to get into the world of sales copy. I am almost to the point of perfecting it, but I'd love to have a mentor to help me a bit more. Any takers?
I am not an expert at all on sales copy... but I follow the tip on the first reply in this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=240286 and I get 200% more sales on one of my website, it could help you.
Agreed - very different. You're writing for two different purposes here... Corporate copywriting in many cases for me has been about writing in a way that keeps the client happy. Internet marketing copywriting in many cases for me has been writing in a way that maximises sales (and as a result keeps the client happy). I recently wrote some internet marketing style copy for a real estate developer who wanted to generate leads online. I used the wrong style (internet marketing instead of "corporate") and a few weeks after the project was finished, he tells me he "didn't like the style". hrmm After that, the question I've been wrestling with is: Should I always write for the maximum possible impact? Or should I sometimes compromise results in order to create an end-product which the client is happy with - knowing that the client is the one who pays my bills, and even though I know that they're going to end up with a lesser result? Anyway - I'm getting off topic. PM me or e-mail me and I'll see what I can do to help you out. Brent
The softawre copywriting tool Glyphius can probably help you out... Alone it's not going to make a person a copywriting pro but it will help improve your copy. -SS
