sales conversion/ROI software?

The company I work for needs to use server-based software to record conversions. We're a service business, and a conversion is considered to be a time when someone fills out the "contact us" form, and eventually signs a contract with a salesperson. As of now, a secretary literally does this by hand on a piece of paper, but it's a little overbearing and unreliable.

Is there some kind of sales conversion tracking software that lets you manually input a company name into a database, and track that "conversion" to the point where it becomes a sale...and then have an end-of-month report with percentages and total sales in dollars?

    you might try:
    http://www.google.com/analytics/

it is free and fairly easy to set up.

you can place tracking code on the page that they hit after filling out the form and see how that person got to your site. use the 'goals' feature.
