I have acquired and had my sales/marketing teams use Goldmine and ACT! during the client/server era. Since then, my larger teams have used SalesForce and Hubspot. When I have been at start-ups with smaller teams, we have used Highrise, FreshWorks, SugarCRM, and Copper. Of course, there are scads of additional CRM packages out there.

Had never heard of it until now, and I understand why. HighLevel is specifically targeted to marketing agencies and offers significant functionality (it appears) for marketers. They do comparisons of other marketing automation tools, but not sales-oriented CRM's. So, if you are looking for both sales and marketing support in a CRM, I am not sure this is one for you. On the other hand, if you are really mostly interested in marketing automation, it might be a good choice (assuming that they have strong references indicating that the software actually works, etc.)

    Hey there,

The best platform can vary widely based on the specific nature of a business. Let me run three scenarios at you:

    1. Retail with Ecommerce:
      • Shopify: A popular choice due to its user-friendly interface and a plethora of plugins. Great for those who want an all-in-one solution without much tech hassle.
      • WooCommerce: If you're using WordPress, this plugin can seamlessly transform your site into an ecommerce platform. It's flexible, but might require a bit more setup compared to Shopify.
    2. Service with Website:
      • Squarespace: Offers beautifully designed templates, which can be a great fit for service-based businesses looking to showcase their offerings.
      • Wix: Another easy-to-use platform with drag-and-drop functionalities. It's versatile and can accommodate various service-based businesses.
      • HubSpot: Beyond just a website, it's a comprehensive inbound marketing, sales, and service platform. Particularly beneficial for service businesses looking to nurture leads and manage customer relationships.
    3. Digital Products with Electronic Downloads:
      • Gumroad: A favorite for many creators, it simplifies the process of selling digital products. From eBooks to software, Gumroad has you covered.
      • SendOwl: Another platform focused on digital products. It provides secure delivery and integrates with major payment gateways.
      • Teachable or Thinkific: If your digital products are courses, these platforms offer a structured way to set up, market, and sell online courses.
Of course, there are many more platforms out there, and the best choice often depends on individual preferences, business size, and specific needs. It might be helpful to try out a few (many offer free trials) to see which one resonates with your workflow and business model.

Hope this sheds some light on the topic for you. What kind of business are you leaning towards?
